Pakistan’s Historic ODI Run Chase Against South Africa achieved their highest-ever One Day International (ODI) run chase, overcoming a daunting 353-run target set by South Africa. This record-breaking feat, achieved with six wickets in hand at the National Stadium Karachi during the ongoing tri-series, solidifies Pakistan’s prowess in ODI cricket. This surpasses their previous best of 349 against Australia in 2022.  

South Africa’s Competitive Total

South Africa posted a competitive 352/5, but Pakistan’s batsmen rose to the occasion. Salman Ali Agha and Mohammad Rizwan were the heroes of the chase. Agha, coming in at a precarious 91 for 3, smashed his maiden ODI century, while Rizwan played a crucial, unbeaten innings.

Rizwan remained unbeaten with a composed 122 off 128 balls, while Agha blazed 134 runs off just 103 deliveries, both achieving their highest individual ODI scores. Their magnificent 260-run partnership is the third-highest in Pakistan’s ODI history, proving pivotal in the historic win.
