Punjab to Roll Out Electric Bus Service in Underserved Districts

As a step in the direction of sustainable transport, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced the start in the state’s the first bus that is electric which will focus on smaller districts that had lacked modern transportation alternatives.

1,100 Electric Buses on the Way

According to officials from the government, 1,100 air-conditioned electric buses are being built by China to be used in Punjab. The first batch consisting of 240 busses is set to be delivered in Pakistan on the 22nd of August. The buses will provide eco-friendly cheap travel throughout various areas, with fares starting at just the price of Rs. 20 per trip which is a welcome benefit for those who commute every day.
