Google has launched one of its biggest improvements in the field of AI Mode within Search that dramatically expands the ways users interact with content on desktops and mobile devices. With improved support for images as well as file uploads, video input along with dynamic plan the update will redefine the way we search.
Smarter Image Search on Desktop
Prior to this, it was only available in the Google application, image-based search using AI Mode is now accessible on desktops. Users can upload pictures and submit detailed questionsand the AI analyze, interpret and react intelligently. This opens up new possibilities for learning through visuals as well as product discovery and research in technical areas right within your web browser.
Coming Soon: PDF and File Upload Support
In the next few days, Google will enable PDF uploads to AI Search Mode. Users can:
- Upload documents
- You can ask questions regarding their content
- Find AI-powered summaries as well as relevant web URLs
Additional formats of files will be supported in the future updates, thereby streamlining searches based on documents and research.
The Canvas: Introducing Canvas AI: Make Smarter Plans with AI
A new and exciting tool, Canvas, lets users create strategies and organize research tasks across multiple sessions within the form of a dynamic side-panel. Canvas allows users to incorporate the uploaded file and previous search history to assist users in refining strategies and develop ideas in the course of time.
Canvas will launch first within the U.S. in the context of an AI Mode Labs experiment in the next few weeks.
Search Live Gets Video Input via Google Lens
Google has taken real-time visual search to a new level. With Video input capabilities with Search Live, users have the ability to:
- Cameras are pointed at an object
- Ask a question
- Real-time AI response
The feature will be rolling out to the U.S. for AI Mode Labs users from this week.
AI Mode Comes to Chrome Browser
AI Mode is closely integrated in Google Chrome. A brand-new feature, dubbed “Ask Google about this page” will be available on the Chrome address bar, allowing users instantly search for any page.
The responses appear in a panel on the side in the form of an AI Overview that allows users to keep the conversation going with replies or by clicking “Dive deeper.”
