China-Backed Cable Giant Eyes Major Investment in Pakistan’s Digital Infrastructure

In a significant development at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai the Pakistani Federal Minister of IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja attended a meeting with top representatives of PeaceCable International Network–a Chinese-based digital infrastructure firm.

The high-level summit focused on the expansion of the digital network throughout Pakistan and the entire region by using terrestrial and submarine optical fiber network cables.

In the presence of the CEO Sun Xiaohua and Sales Director Zhuang Wei Zhuang Wei, CEO of PeaceCable. PeaceCable group was able to discuss their global operations that include cutting-edge fiber connectivity solutions as well as power infrastructure, and the reported annual revenues of 24 billion dollars..

Boosting Pakistan’s National Fiber Goals

The Federal Minister explained the vision of the government in the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s “Digital Pakistan” agenda and emphasized:

  • Converging Ten million homes via fiber broadband in three years
  • Growing fiber-optimized mobile towers from 14 percent to 60 percent
  • Reduce the Right of Way (RoW) costs by implementing policy changes

PeaceCable Encouraged to Invest in FTTH and Fiber Markets

The Ministry of IT and Telecommunication (MOITT) has praised PeaceCable’s involvement in Pakistan’s booming fiber market, focusing on:

  • The FTTH (Fiber to home) rollout
  • ODN (Optical Distribution Network) infrastructure
  • Public-private Partnerships to increase the range of fiber

The government pledged that it would provide full support in facilitating PeaceCable’s entry into Pakistan’s digital ecosystem. It also called for a long-term partnership to aid the nation’s digital transformation.
