Hyundai’s Genesis reveals all-electric SUV concept, the Neolun

Hyundai’s luxury brand, Genesis, is setting the stage for its future trajectory with the introduction of the Neolun, a groundbreaking all-electric concept SUV, at the New York International Auto Show.

The Neolun boasts a bold exterior characterized by elongated horizontal headlights and taillights, reminiscent of Genesis’ current electric vehicles but with a more contemporary twist.

Minimalistic Interior with Innovative Features

Inside the Neolun, the design ethos takes a minimalist approach, departing from the trend of expansive door-to-door screens seen in recent concepts. Instead, a central screen dominates the cabin, flanked by physical buttons below it and a control panel and knob positioned conveniently for the driver’s access.

One of the standout features includes front seats that can swivel to face the rear passengers, offering a lounge-like seating arrangement for enhanced comfort and interaction.

Genesis’ Forward Vision and Growth Strategy

According to Genesis, the Neolun Concept encapsulates the brand’s vision for the future, outlining its commitment to pushing boundaries in product innovation, design, and technological advancement.

While concept vehicles like the Neolun serve primarily as glimpses into potential future offerings and gauge consumer interest, Genesis refrains from disclosing whether this particular concept previews an upcoming large all-electric SUV for the brand.

Genesis’ Impressive Sales Trajectory

Genesis has experienced a remarkable 23% increase in U.S. sales, reaching a record-breaking 69,175 units in the past year alone. This growth trajectory positions Genesis favorably against established luxury competitors like Infiniti, bolstering its confidence in continued success in the U.S. market.

Tedros Mengiste, Vice President of Sales Operations for Genesis Motor America, attributes this success to the brand’s expanding standalone retail presence and unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional vehicles.

Expanding the Performance Lineup: GV60 Magma Concept

In addition to the Neolun, Genesis unveiled the GV60 Magma Concept, a high-performance iteration of its compact EV crossover. This unveiling aligns with the brand’s strategic vision to develop high-performance variants, known as Magma models, for each vehicle in its existing lineup.

Both concept vehicles made their debut at the New York International Auto Show, offering attendees a glimpse into Genesis’ bold and innovative future.
