Nestlé Pakistan, as part of its Nestlé Cares initiative, has launched its inaugural tree plantation activity, establishing an urban forest at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore.

Collaborative Efforts for Environmental Impact

This initiative was made possible through collaboration with the Parks & Horticulture Authority (PHA) and Civil Aviation Authority.

The event witnessed enthusiastic involvement from Nestlé employees, students from Nestlé for Healthier Kids partner schools, and various members of civil society.

Taking charge of the volunteer initiative, Jason Avanceña, CEO of Nestlé Pakistan, expressed, “Forests serve as the Earth’s lungs, playing an indispensable role in combatting climate change and safeguarding biodiversity.”

Expansion of Urban Reforestation Efforts

Nestlé Pakistan is set to expand its urban reforestation endeavors with a second tree plantation activity slated for the Canal-Jalo Park junction.

Scale-Up  Tree Plantingin

This upcoming initiative aims to plant an additional 25,000 trees, featuring diverse species such as Arjun, Jaman, Pilkan, and Sukhchain.

Future Plantation Projects

Further tree planting projects are also on the agenda for locations including Sheikhupura and Kabirwala.

Engagement through Nestlé Cares Program

Participation in these initiatives is facilitated through Nestlé Cares program, offering opportunities for both direct and indirect involvement in volunteer work.

Meeting Tree Plantation Commitments

In the preceding year, Nestlé Pakistan pledged to plant 100,000 trees by March 2024, a promise that has been fulfilled through collaborative efforts with diverse stakeholders and partners.
